We did our first family vacation to Edelweiss Lodge And Resort and i have to say i am soooo sad to be back home. It was THE most GORGEOUS place i have EVER been. We were SURROUNDED by the HUUUUUGE snow covered Bavarian Alps. Everything was so green!It did rain here and there but we made the best of it.
So sorry if i am rambling on and this doesn't make sense but im too lazy to proof read this thing =P I'll do it later....
Day one. We headed to Neuschwanstein Castle. The ride there was BREATHTAKING. Took a horse ride carriage to the top =) I have seen a lot of castles but this one by far has to be the prettiest one and it is it tip top shape! We did the tour of it and was in aweee with the whole thing. Made me wish i was a princess! lol. After the tour i wanted to get good pictures of it so i hiked up to the scary ass bridge that was behind the castle. Craig said he would stay back and take the kids to the little pizza place a little ways down. I took pictures, video, yadayada, but when i went to go find Craig i couldn't find him! =X So i thought he went back to the car to feed Aubrey or something. I didn't have my ticket to take the horse ride down the hill so i walked. Went allllllllllll the way back to the car and no Craig LOL. So i decided to wait where the carriage rides were. Sat there for about 30 min then decided to just hike alllllll the way back up to the castle. I would have taken a horse ride back up but i only have 4 Euro on me and no wallet!!! lol. So i decided to just spend the Euro on a poncho and walk up there in my FLIP FLOPS XD I was really impressed with myself because i made it up there with no problem. One American lady was like "Holy crap, shes hiking up this thing in sandals!" lol. After going back up to the caslte i FINALLY found them =P So then it was back DOWN the mountain haha. On the way home i decided to take video of the mountains and we almost hit a damn HAWK! D= The stupid thing flew about 10 feet in front of our car, sat there, and starred at us like "BITCH YOU BETTER STOP" Ughhhh i will never forget that creep look it gave us. It was O_O. Stupid bird. Almost gave me a heart attack. I apologize in the video i uploaded for cursing like a sailor =P Went back to the resort, and went swimming XD My legs we in PAIN when we got back to the room. I tried to soak in the tub but it didn't help. I woke up in the middle of the night to feed Aubrey and wanted to cry because i couldn't walk! But i was fine by morning =P
Day two. We wanted to go up to the Zugspitze Mountain but thank goodness they had webcams at the resort to see the top of it so you can decided if it's worth it or not to go up annnnnnnnnnnnnd it wasn't lol. All you could see was clouds. So we went to the Partnach Gorge instead. Beautiful and WET! Note to anyone who goes there. Put your infants in the CDC like we did. Strollers and baby hiking backpacks are a NO GO in there. You are walking on rocks, and the ceilings are LOW. Buy a poncho or umbrella when you go in because you WILL get wet.
Day 3. Spent our last few hours taking pictures of the resort and the surrounding area. Then headed to one of the many lakes to sightsee. After that we went to Munich to see the BMW museum. Pretty snazzy ;)
Now we are back home. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I don't want to be here lol. I so so wish we could have extended our stay here in Germany now after going to Bavaria =( But anyways, i give Edelweiss and the surrounding areas 50 stars!!! XD haha. SOOOO WORTH IT!
Thank goodness we took a rental there because we put 1200 miles on that bad boy! lol. Don't want that on our car =X
Another note. The car ride THERE wasn't bad. We did hit construction that made us take a stupid detour which made the ride a little longer. The ride back wasn't bad at all. A little construction here and there but that's about it, and the ride was shorter.
